Studio Feature: Fit Factory Fitness

Once again, not a sponsored post! I just LOVE Fit Factory!

If you read my first post about how I got fit while working 9-5, you know that I started with their 30-day unlimited trial in June and then signed up for a year's membership (3x per week).

This post for anyone looking to make a change in order to reach their fitness goals, or who are thinking about trying Fit Factory for the first time.

When my trial month came to an end, I was really torn. FF is pricey, and since I had a free membership to Goodlife it was hard to justify. I decided to at least try to work out on my own at Goodlife, but within a week I knew I had to bite the bullet and sign up for FF. Here's why:

1. I don't push myself very hard when I work out alone: While I love exercise and am an avid runner, dancer, and gym-goer, I rarely push myself very hard when doing these activities on my own (especially at the gym). I'm the girl who goes straight to the stretching/free weight area to do a few squats and crunches, avoiding the crowded machines and super jacked men out of fear of judgement. When I started bootcamps at Fit Factory, the difference between my solo workouts and these ones became stark, and I couldn't go back to my old ways. After experiencing a bootcamp at FF, my dinky workouts seemed pointless.

2. Accountability of committing to a class: Since they charge you a cancellation fee, there's no excuse for missing class! When you work out on your own it's easy to push it back if something else comes up. I put my workouts in my work calendar and have trained colleagues to know that I am not available every day from 12-1:30pm. Appointments with yourself are just as (if not more) important than appointments with colleagues/clients!

3. FF is not your average group fitness class: FF is the hardest workout I've ever done. Compared to other group fitness classes, I have yet to find a better one (however I have not tried Barry's yet!). The instructors push you HARD, and everyone who trains there is committed and fully bought-in to the class style. We take water breaks together, no push ups on the knees, burpees are done with a tuck jump, and no leaning on the walls are their basic class standards. That being said, there are people of all fitness levels, genders, and ages in the class! You should not be afraid because all they ask of you is to TRY. When I started, the no push ups on your knees thing was really hard! But now I can do it! Nothing gets easier, but you will get stronger :)

4. ROI:  Yes FF is pricey. But the ROI is in the physical results you'll achieve, the time you'll save by not having to build your own workouts or waste time on inadequate/ineffective workouts, and in the productivity gains of your boosted mood and increased energy!

I challenge you to try FF and sign up for their 30 day unlimited trial (or try one class on Classpass) to see if it suits you. Always down for new workout buddies!
